Hi, I'm Emma.

Braden Co. is named after my grandpa, James Braden Bolt.

Some of my earliest memories are of spending time in his barn. He taught me how to use tools, how to fix things, and how to approach work with patience and care. I would spend hours following him around, digging through toolboxes, asking questions, and trying things for myself. Watching him build and repair things sparked something in me at a young age, a curiosity and appreciation for making things by hand that has stayed with me ever since.

Over the years, that interest eventually led me to leatherwork. What drew me in was not only the finished product, but the process itself. I found myself enjoying the challenge of learning new skills, working through mistakes, and slowly bringing an idea to life. There is something deeply satisfying about creating an object with care and intention, knowing that it may become part of someone's daily life for years to come.

Every piece I work on is a reminder that craftsmanship is as much about stewardship as it is about creation. Whether I am making something new or restoring something old, my goal is simply to do justice to the material and the trust that comes with it.

That is especially true when it comes to Bible rebinding. It often carries years of notes, prayers, memories, and quiet moments that are deeply personal to its owner. Each time one arrives at my workbench, I am reminded that I am handling something that matters to someone. I still feel a sense of responsibility whenever I begin a new project, and I hope I never lose that. It keeps me mindful of the care these pieces deserve.

Braden Co. exists because of a love for craftsmanship, but it continues because of the kindness and trust of the people who support it. The fact that someone would choose my work, or place something meaningful in my hands, is never something I want to take for granted.

I'm grateful you're here. Thank you for taking an interest in what I make and for allowing me to do work that I genuinely enjoy. It is a privilege to spend my days creating with my hands, and I am thankful for every person who makes that possible.
